Ardmore 10 year old Douglas Laing's Old Particular is a single malt Scotch whisky that has been distilled at the Ardmore distillery in the Highlands region of Scotland. This expression has been selected and bottled by Douglas Laing, an independent bottler of fine whiskies, as part of their "Old Particular" range.

Ardmore 10 year old is a medium-bodied whisky that has been aged in a single refill hogshead cask for a minimum of 10 years, which has imparted a beautiful golden color to the whisky. The nose of this whisky is rich and complex, with aromas of peat smoke, honey, vanilla, and dried fruits.

On the palate, Ardmore 10 year old is a deliciously smoky whisky with a range of flavors. It has a rich, malty sweetness that is balanced by notes of smoked meats, salted caramel, and gentle spice. The finish is long and warming, with a delightful smoky aftertaste.

Ardmore distillery profile...

This distillery was founded in 1898. It contributes most of its production to the Teacher's blend. This distillery preserved the very traditional method of coal firing its stills until 2002. Its floor maltings were decommissioned in the 1970s. These days the distillery has its own cooperage and gets its heavily peated barley from nearby floor maltings. The production capacity could reach over 4 million liters however the distillery produces some 3 million liters of alcohol. The current owner is Fortune Brands and the un-peated version of the whisky is called Ardlair.
