Mannochmore 9 year old Bottled Exclusively for Jeffrey st. Whisky & Tobacco

This delightful Mannochmore was aged in traditional casks prior to being re-racked in a Ruby Port Quarter Cask. The sweetness of the spirit and the cask deliver a whisky with a palate perfectly suited for the festive season.

Expect notes of cranberry sauce, brandy-soaked raisins, mulled-wine spices and a rich, satisfying palate with a persistent and slightly dry finish. We loved it so much we bought the entire cask from the chaps at The Single Cask. If you love it as much as we do beware! There were just 70 bottles released. 

The Single Cask

The Single Cask bottle unique whiskies, one cask at a time. They carefully select every single cask, and bottle it at natural cask strength. No chill filtration nor artificial colouring are used. Each whisky offers the best from each individual cask. 

Mannochmore distillery

Mannochmore distillery was founded in 1971. It was built on the side of the Glenlossie distillery. It produces over 3 million liters of spirit each year and most of it ends up in world famous blends. This distillery was operated by staff from the Glenlossie distillery for just six months per year.

Mannochmore didn't release its whisky as a single malt until 1996. The whisky released was called Loch Dhu. That whisky was not well received among whisky enthusiasts and critics. Generous amounts of caramel colouring were used making the whisky look black.

Production capacity was increased in 2013 and today the distillery produces 4.5 million liters of alcohol per year. Some people argue that Mannochmore whiskies are best enjoyed when they are younger. If you see an independent bottling grab it and see for yourself.
