Non Briar Pipes

Briar is the most widely used wood for pipe making. Its compact nature and high heat resistance makes it ideal. Other woods with high heat resistance are less common. Pipes made from those other materials are often sought by pipe collectors, enthusiasts and connoisseurs given their uniqueness. Some woods give away a pleasant and aromatic note. Some others inhibit the tannic notes that conventional briar pipes sometimes give away.
