Notes of dried fruits, toasted coconut, and smooth oak add further depth, while a subtle hint of smoke lingers in the background, enhancing its luxurious finish.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eAberfeldy Distillery \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAberfeldy distillery was opened in 1898 by the John Dewar and Sons company. It remained operational until 1917 when barley shortages forced it to close down. It reopened in 1919 and produced whisky intended for blends until the Second World War broke out. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDuring the war the distillery remained shut. After the war concluded and barley shortages were over, the demand for Aberfeldy whisky caused stock shortages. The whisky was laid for just 3 years as opposed to the usual 7 years. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNot much happened at the distillery for a couple of decades until 1972 when it was enlarged and four steam-heated stills were installed. Production continued and in 1999 a 12 year old single malt was released.
