Expect a whisky with a dark copper colour, honey and caramel notes on the palate. The finish is long and persistent.
Kockdhu distillery was founded in 1893. It was built by Distillery Company Limited and started producing whisky in 1894. The distillery has operated almost continuously since then and has only been closed for brief periods of time. It closed in 1921 and again in 1983 during the financial crisis. Five years after the second closure, Inverhouse distillers acquired the distillery. In 2003 the packaging of their official releases changed and in 2006 the parent company of Knockdhu distillery was sold to International Beverage Holdings.
