Benromach Sassicaia 2010
The Benromach Sassicaia 2010 is a limited edition release of Benromach whisky. The whisky has a taste profile unlike any other resulting from a final finishing period in Sassicaia wine casks from the Bolgheri wine region. The whisky was distilled in 2010 and initially matured in first fill bourbon barrels for 6 years before being finished for 2 years in wine cask. Nose is brimming with luscious red berries and hints of ginger and cinnamon. The initial peppery palate gives way to a ripe summer fruits, soft spice and milk chocolate coated in subtle smokiness.
