This is liquid history as the distillery was only operating for 22 years. Originally built in 1964 by Philadelphia-based Publicker Industries. The distillery reached the pinnacle of its rather short lifespan in 1980 when an award-winning by-products recovery plant was opened by George Younger, Secretary of State for Scotland, though by then the business was already beginning to unravel. The site was sadly closed on 1986 for good. The 1974 expression was bottled at natural cask strength by Morrison and Mackay with only 128 bottles made available after 45 years of maturation in Bourbon Barrels.
