Glenallachie Billy Walker 50th Anniversary Future Edition, Peated
In honor of Master Distiller Billy Walker’s 50-year career, GlenAllachie unveils the final release in The Past, Present & Future Series: The GlenAllachie 50th Anniversary Future Edition.
This 4-year-old single malt is the distillery’s first peated release and the first produced under Walker’s ownership. With a 160-hour fermentation, the ester-rich, fruity spirit matured in former Rye and Bourbon barrels and virgin oak casks. Made with mainland peat, it delivers a smoky yet sweet profile with notes of cinnamon apples and smouldering oak.
Bottled at natural cask strength (60.2%) with no added color or chill filtration for pure flavor.
The Glenallachie Distillery
The Glenallachie Distillery is a single malt distillery located in the Speyside Region founded in 1967, which sits at the foot of Ben Rinnes. Previously, the distillery mainly produced whisky for blends however has since been relaunched as a distillery known for its fruity, single malt expressions. In July 2017, it was announced that Chivas Brothers agreed to sell GlenAllachie to former BenRiach MD Billy Walker, Trisha Savage and ex-Inver House Distillers MD Graham Stevenson, who came together to form The GlenAllachie Distillers Company. It is now one of Scotland's few independently owned and managed distilleries.
