Jura Superstition is the lightly peated expression from the Jura distillery. It is a perfectly balanced in its light levels of peat that the full rich flavours of cinnamon, dark cocoa, coffee and the sea blend beautifully with hints of light honey and pine.
Jura distillery profile
This distillery was built in 1963 on the site of an earlier distillery called 'The Small Isles Distillery'. It was built by legendary distillery architect William Delme-Evans from Wales. Out of all the distilleries he built, Jura was probably the one that he felt closer to. He even learnt to fly just to be able to get to the isle and out of the isle. For a long time Jura whisky was a very important component in the famous Original Mckinlay 21 blend. These days the distillery is part of the Glasgow based Whyte and Mackay group. The group is owned by Emperador
Inc. a brandy manufacturer based in the Philippines.
