Kilchoman Casado 2022 Release
The superb Kilchoman Casado (Portuguese for marriage) has been matured in fresh bourbon barrels for 6 years before 38 casks were married together for 2 years in two 6,000 litre Portuguese red wine vats.
Kilchoman distillery
Kilchoman distillery is located on Islay. When it started operations it was the first distillery to be built there in some 124 years. The distillery carries out all the stages of the whisky making process on Islay. Some 25% of its malted barley is sourced from the local fields surrounding the site.
Kilchoman distillery has expanded its prodcution capacity once and will do so again in 2018. For such a young distillery it has been a fantastic first decade. It looks like the future is smiling to them.
