Kilchoman Machir Bay Cask Strength
This edition of the famous Kilchoman Machir Bay is made using the same vatting recipe as the regular Machir Bay bottling however rather than reducing the strength to 46% abv they have released a limited number of bottles at cask strength; 58.3% abv. The higher abv allows for the quality and intensity of the Kilchoman spirit to shine.
Kilchoman distillery
Kilchoman distillery is located on Islay. When it started operations it was the first distillery to be built there in some 124 years. The distillery carries out all the stages of the whisky making process on Islay. Some 25% of its malted barley is sourced from the local fields surrounding the site.
Kilchoman distillery has expanded its prodcution capacity once and will do so again in 2018. For such a young distillery it has been a fantastic first decade. It looks like the future is smiling to them.
