Montecristo Dantes 2016
The Montecristo Dantes are long awaited 2016 Limited edition, presented in a wooden box containing 10 cigars. The cigars is Hermoso vitola (167mm) x 48 ring gauge) and the DantÌ's will be the first cigar of this vitola to be represented in the iconic Montecristo range. The Dantes were named after Edmond Dantes main character and the protagonist of Alexandre Dumas, pÌ¬re's 1844 adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo. Back in the 1930's the novel was read to and enjoyed by the torcedores of the day as they hand crafted their masterpieces, a practice still continued. Edicion Limitada are cigars with specially selected tobacco leafs from the famous Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba matured for minimum of two years.
Montecristo is probably the best known and most appreciated brand of Havanas throughout the world. The name comes from Alexandre Dumas' famous novel "The Count of Montecristo" which was a firms favourite when read to Torcedores at the factory where it was founded in 1935. The Original range of Montecristo cigars was composed of a narrow range numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of Vitolas to cover every level of enthusiast's needs. In 2004 the 52 ring gauge Edmundo size was introduced in recognition of the trend for heavy gauge cigars, and 2009 saw the introduction on new series Montecristo Open consisting of four sizes blended to a lighter flavour than the rest of Montecristo's range.
