This release of Islay Barley Octomore from Bruichladdich Distillery is the second release of this variation on Octomore. Unlike the standard releases this Octomore whilst still a Atom Bomb of peat pleasure is more subtle. The initial nose of the whisky is peaty but also full of natural whiffs like the air before the first storm of the summer. Lots of O-zone and Petrichor potpourri, all of this is intertwine with the taste of light jams and baked scones. The Whisky delivers the traditional peat but also the comfort and warmth of a smoldering peat.
