The Macallan A Night on Earth In Jerez

A rare single malt Scotch whisky, aged in exquisite sherry-seasoned oak casks. Drawing inspiration from year-end traditions celebrated in Jerez, the heart of Andalusia and the home of Sherry wine in southern Spain.

The third release in the A Night on Earth series honors the universal tradition of marking the end of the year—a time for togetherness, reflection on the past, and anticipation for the future. This special release coincides with The Macallan's 200-year anniversary and pays tribute to Jerez de la Frontera in Spain, renowned as the home of sherry wine. It is here that The Macallan's exceptional oak casks are seasoned with sherry, imparting their distinctive character.

Crafted by The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team, this single malt Scotch whisky is a remarkable expression. It is meticulously created using a harmonious blend of European and American sherry-seasoned oak casks, inspired by the rich year-end traditions of the sherry wine region.

In 1996 the current owners, Edrington Group (known as Highland Distillers back then), took over Macallan distillery. Prior to this, the distillery’s production capacity was increased in 1954, 1965 and 1975. Today 21 pot stills operate at this distillery.

For most of its history, Macallan has produced malt whisky for blending. During the dreaded whisky glut of the 1980’s, production focused strongly on the single
