English Whisky
New English and Welsh craft distilleries have begun to sprout in both cities and countryside, producing whisky in various quantities. Some have become established names. Others are microdistilleries still awaiting their first whisky, which needs to age for at least 3 years. Most are producing other kinds of spirits and boozy drinks at their facilities as well. The relatively small scale of English and Welsh whisky distilling, as well as the fact that every operation has been built from scratch, means that now is an exciting time to learn about what the future of whisky in the U.K. outside of Scotland might look like.
