Established in the mid-19th century by Don Manuel López of Juan Valle & Co., Punch is one of the oldest and most distinguished Cuban cigar brands. It was created with a focus on the thriving British market, where a satirical magazine of the same name enjoyed great popularity at the time.
The brand’s packaging continues to feature the iconic figure of Mr. Punch, the magazine’s emblematic clown, depicted with a cigar in hand and surrounded by 19th-century illustrations of cigar-making—a tradition that has remained largely unchanged for over 150 years.
In 1931, Punch became associated with Hoyo de Monterrey, and both brands have since been produced in the same factory, now known as La Corona.
Renowned for its distinctive medium-bodied flavor, Punch cigars are crafted using a carefully selected blend of filler and binder tobaccos from the prestigious Vuelta Abajo region. Every cigar in the range is meticulously handcrafted in the tripa larga, totalmente a mano style, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship.
