Raasay whisky is a relatively new addition to the world of Scottish whisky, having only been established in 2017. It is produced on the Isle of Raasay, which is located off the west coast of Scotland, and is known for its rugged, natural beauty. The distillery is located on the island's south coast, overlooking the Sound of Raasay, which separates Raasay from the nearby Isle of Skye.
The distillery's first whisky was released in 2020, and it has already received critical acclaim for its quality and unique flavor profile. The whisky is produced using locally sourced barley and water, which are distilled in copper pot stills and matured in a variety of casks, including bourbon, sherry, and wine casks.
