Pictish Beasty Volume 1 Fib Whisky
This exceptional whisky was released by Fib Whisky, a distillery located in the Kingdom of Fife. Crafted from a marriage of two casks, this whisky possesses abundant character. The first cask is closely related to their excellent Deanston barrel from the initial Copper & Oak/Permutations series. It underwent a finishing period in a 1st-Fill PX Sherry Hogshead. The second cask consists of a Fife single grain sourced from Cameronbridge Distillery, which was finished in an ex-Glenallachie Sherry Butt. Naturally, it was bottled at a robust cask strength of 58.8% for this particular batch.
Iain graciously shared a sip of this splendid elixir with us, and it is an incredibly moreish whisky. The more you indulge, the more your desire for it grows ;)
Proud Fifeans, the founders of this independent bottling company picked a name that would evoke tradition and local roots. The name Fib was chosen after one of the sons of mythological Pictish king Cruithne who gave the kingdom of Fife to his son Fib.
Fib whisky emphasises transparency and bottles its whiskies at natural cask strength without adding artificial colouring nor using chill-filtration.
