Blog of June 2015

It's been an amazing six months since when we opened in December 2014. We opened a lovely little whisky shop right off the Royal Mile. So far we've kept our promise to keep our prices low and to provide the best service. As the weather gets warmer and the days longer, business improves. We've met wonderful people and made many new friends since December. We look forwards to the summer and the Festival. Last month we had our Cuban Cigars and whisky evening at the Crowne Plaza Royal Terrace hotel in Edinburgh. Romeo and Julieta Short Churchill as well as Montecristo Petit Edmundo were enjoyed by all. We paired the cigars with whiskies bottled by independent bottlers. Glen Keith 19 years old and Clynelish 17 years (both from Signatory's un-chillfiltered collection) matched beautifully the cigars.   [gallery size="medium" ids="1693,1705"] This month, we are working together with Love from Indie Street, The Bacardi group, Spey distillery and other wonderful companies. Love from Indie Street is organizing a Fathers day competition where everyone over the age of 18 can participate. You can win tickets to have FREE whisky tastings with us. Have a look at their website and social media pages. http://lovefromindiestreet.com This month we've had (so far) one free whisky tasting and another one will take place on Saturday 13JUN15. Everyone is invited of course to sample The Last Great Malts of Scotland. 3-Win-a-whisky-prueba-de-dos   This month we've had (so far) one free whisky tasting and another one will take place on Saturday 13JUN15. The lucky attendees, were treated to samples of the entire available range. The Spey Tenne, was a massive favourite and so were the Spey 12 years old and the Spey Chairman's choice. The reason for Spey Tenne being so popular is its rich and complex flavour imparted by its Tawny Port finish. Tawny Port finishes in whisky are quite hard to come by given that Port houses in Porto rarely, if ever, sell their casks. 6-rojizo-Port Those of you who follow us, know already about our exclusive whiskies. More about them on our next blog entry. Follow us on Twitter, FB, Google Plus, Instagram and Pinterest. The Team firma-de-blog
