Description
Lindores Abbey Thiron
This release has been a long time in the making, with its origins tracing back over eight years—before the distillery even had whisky ready for sale. In 2016, Drew, Helen, and Poppy embarked on a journey to Thiron-Gardais, a historic town in France, driven by a desire to explore the birthplace of the monks who originally established Lindores Abbey.
During their visit, they discovered a woodland area where Thiron Oak trees thrived, marking the start of an ambitious project that culminates in this exceptional whisky release. The whisky incorporates a portion of the distillery’s award-winning spirit, matured in casks expertly crafted from Thiron Oak sourced directly from Thiron-Gardais. Complemented by Rejuvenated Red Wine Barriques and Bourbon casks, this meticulously crafted whisky offers a rich sensory experience. Its nose and palate are designed to evoke an immersive journey through history, with each sip delivering a taste of tradition and a tribute to the past.
