Casa Turrent Factory
Alberto and Alejandro Turrent, owners of Nueva Matacapan de Tabacos S.A. de C.V., are widely regarded as the pioneers of Mexico’s cigar industry, with a legacy dating back to 1880. This father-and-son duo not only craft some of the finest cigars in Mexico but are also the country’s leading growers of cigar tobacco. Their San Andrés Maduro leaf, cultivated near Veracruz, is globally celebrated for its exceptional quality. Additionally, their tobacco varieties play a key role in many of the most popular premium cigar brands in the United States.
To ensure consistency in their flagship Casa Turrent line, Alejandro opted against mass production in a large factory. Instead, he transformed his great-grandfather’s house into a boutique factory staffed by just 15 artisans, dedicated to crafting the intricate Casa Turrent Series.
