Daftmill distillery is a true farm distillery that only produces whisky during the quiet months of the farm. The output of the distillery is about 20 thousand liters per year and the entire operation (apart from the cooperage) is is self sufficient.
The owners of the distillery, brothers Francis and Ian Cuthbert, came up with the idea of distilling whisky in 2003. They converted three buildings of their farm into a distillery and received their distilling license in 2005. The whisky is released in very limited quantities through wholesalers Berry Bros. & Rudd.
