Dunhill first started it's life as a motor accessories company but first broke into tobacco in 1904 when Alfred Dunhill created the "wind Shield Pipe.". This started a long history of tobacco production. In 1907 the company opened a shop on Duke Street in the Saint James area of London. At this shop he offered tailor made blends of Pipe tobaccos to his customers. in 1908 the first Dunhill cigarettes where released. The company quickly grew in popularity and Alfred eventually released his white spot trade mark. The brand also made sure to patent everything that it made.
