Padron Cigars where founded in Miami Florida in 1964. The brain child of the decedent of Padron tobacco farming on Cuba. Jose Orlando Padron founded Piloto Cigars Inc ( Padron Cigars ) When American grown Broadleaf tobacco became to limiting ( due to long fermenting times ) the brand moved to Estelí in Nicaragua. Opening a factory and upped production. Trying to remain apolitical in the region the brand was to be singled out and the Factory attacked an demolished by protesters. Moving from Nicaragua to Honduras whilst the Esteli factory was rebuilt the company eventually returned and has made cigars in Nicaragua ever since.
