Ardmore 14 Year Old Mythical Beasts is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled by Spiritfilled, an independent bottler based in the UK. This expression is produced by the Ardmore Distillery, which is located in the Highlands of Scotland.

Ardmore 14 Year Old Mythical Beasts is aged in American oak barrels and bottled at cask strength, which is 55.3% ABV. The whisky has a rich and complex flavour profile, with notes of smoke, peat, and oak that are balanced by a fruity sweetness. As the name suggests, this whisky is inspired by mythical creatures, and the label features a depiction of a dragon.

The nose of Ardmore 14 Year Old Mythical Beasts is dominated by aromas of peat smoke and charred oak, with subtle hints of vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the smoke and oak notes are joined by flavours of ripe fruits, including apricots and citrus, as well as a touch of spice. The mouthfeel is rich and full-bodied, with a long and warming finish that leaves a lingering smokiness on the palate.

Ardmore distillery profile...

This distillery was founded in 1898. It contributes most of its production to the Teacher's blend. This distillery preserved the very traditional method of coal firing its stills until 2002. Its floor maltings were decommissioned in the 1970s. These days the distillery has its own cooperage and gets its heavily peated barley from nearby floor maltings. The production capacity could reach over 4 million liters however the distillery produces some 3 million liters of alcohol. The current owner is Fortune Brands and the un-peated version of the whisky is called Ardlair.
