The Glencairn Whisky Glass was created by Raymond Davison who saw that whisky because it is a beautiful and complicated spirit need a specialized glass so that it could be properly appreciated for its colour, flavour and smell. it would take 20 years for this master piece to reach the world as it was Raymond's sons Paul and Scott who took the glass their father designed to the experts in the industry the whisky blenders and distillers. The glass would become 'The Whisky Glass' used by both experts and whisky lovers a like. The glass was designed with a tasting tapered mouth to make it easy to drink the whisky while funneling the delicate smells up to the nose. The wide bowl was created so that one could appreciate the colour and legs of each whisky and the solid bottom was made so that the glass was easy to hold.
