ROMEO Y JULIETA
The Romeo y Julieta brand was founded in 1875 by Inocencio Alvarez and Manin Garcia. It was named after the famous play by William Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet, that would be read aloud to cigar rollers by Lectores (readers) and quickly became their favourite. The brand became particularly famous among the wealthiest people in the world and at its peak was producing 2000 personalised ranges of Cigars. Perhaps the most famous of the brand's devotees was Sir Winston Churchill. His name was not only commemorated on a band but it has also served to describe the brand's most famous size: Romeo y JulietaChurchill.
The 21st century saw the arrival of three similarly named sizes: Short Churchill, Wide Churchill and Petit Churchill. The brand's balanced and aromatic blend of selected fillers and binder leaves from Vuelta Abajo zone makes it the classic medium bodied Havana.
