Description
Scapa 10 year old
Matured in ex-American oak casks on the island of Orkney, this single malt showcases a refined harmony of flavours. Vibrant notes of fresh pineapple and candied mango are elegantly balanced by layers of crème brûlée and custard, while subtle hints of honeyed pancakes and ripe banana add depth and complexity to the finish.
Scapa Distillery
Scapa distillery was founded in 1885 and has operated with brief interruptions ever since. The single malt produced at Scapa distillery was a very important component to the legendary 'Ambassador blend'. In 1959 the distillery was fitted with innovative, yet un-popular 'Lomond Stills'. These stills were replaced in the early 1980s as maintaining them was too burdensome. In 2004 the distillery launched the highly acclaimed 14 year old expression which was replaced with a 16 year old expression in 2008. This distillery is currently owned by industry giant Pernod Ricard through its subsidiary Chivas Brothers.
