Higher Ground 10 year old Braeval First Fill Oloroso Sherry Cask Uncharted Whisky
Located in the village of Chapeltown near Ballindalloch, Braeval Distillery holds the distinction of being the highest distillery in Scotland—just two meters above Dalwhinnie. This elevation inspired the name of this vatting, which combines two sister barriques.
Established in 1973 and originally known as Braes of Glenlivet, the distillery was renamed Braeval in 1994 to avoid confusion with the nearby Glenlivet Distillery. The original name referenced its location on the braes of Speyside, a fitting tribute to the area.

Braeval’s tall, slender pot stills produce a light, delicate spirit that has long been favored in premium blends such as Chivas Regal. Its elegant character is further enhanced through maturation in Oloroso sherry barriques, adding richness and complexity.
Braeval Distillery
Braeval Distillery (formerly known as Braes of Glenlivet) was one of the
youngest distilleries in Scotland at the end of the 20th century. It was founded in 1973 by Chivas Brothers Ltd., a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. It is situated near the Glenlivet Distillery, which is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland with a history dating back to 1824. Braes of Glenlivet was built as a modern distillery with state-of-the-art facilities, incorporating traditional whisky-making techniques with modern technology to produce high-quality whisky.
