Description
Craigellachie 19 year old
This exceptionally rare expression from Craigellachie offers a heightened biscuity sweetness and a more pronounced pineapple note compared to the 17-year-old release. Highly sought after by enthusiasts, it represents a standout bottling in the Craigellachie range. Following initial maturation in a variety of cask types, the whisky is divided—half matured in first-fill sherry casks and the other half in first-fill bourbon casks—resulting in a bold and intensely flavourful showcase of "The Rock of Speyside."
Craigellachie Distillery
Craigellachie distillery was founded in 1891 during the whisky boom of the 19th century. The distillery has produced a distinct whisky that has been popular in blends. In 1998 the distillery was acquired by John Dewar and Sons (a subsidiary of Bacardi). These days there is an official release from the distillery. Previously only independent single malt releases were available. This distillery produces whisky that ends up, for the most part, in the Dewars blends.
