The Kinsale Smooth XL24 Polished is a standard Peterson filtered system pipe. Made from the highest quality Briar wood ( A tuber like root from the tree heath plant, a form of heather found in Eastern and Southern Europe.) the Peterson Briar is cut when it is 60 years old and cured under water for several hours before it is dried for 3 months. The wood has a beautiful patina and appearance, This Peterson is a standard smooth design with a fantastic weight not so light that it doesn't feel like it is there but not heavy enough to cause discomfort. The Smooth style is the most popular of pipe styles and a fine Peterson is often the very center of a collection of pipes.
