Whisky tour in Edinburgh

Whisky tour in Edinburgh

We have partnered up with Edinburgh Expert: Gareth Davies to offer you a whisky tour which includes a guided tour around Edinburgh and a whisky tasting.

Whisky Tour in Edinburgh

Gareth will take you around the Canongate and show you the former brewing district of the city. You will be shown around the area where monks were using spring water to brew Ale as far back as the 12th century!  Brewing was, up until the early 20th century, Edinburgh's most important and oldest industry. It was the furnaces and boilers emitting smoke and vapour throughout the day that earned the city its peculiar nickname: 'Auld reekie'.  What a nickname for the capital city of Scotland. Of course, the landmarks and places of interest around the area will be explored too. This guided tour is perfect for those wanting to explore more and discover some of Edinburgh's hidden gems with the help of an Expert. Don't forget to bring your camera as you will be shown some hidden gems in the Canongate area as well as the palace of Holyrood (where the Queen stays when visiting Scotland), the Scottish Parliament building as well as the Canongate Kirk where members of the royal family have gotten married. It wouldn't be a whisky tour without getting to sample some of this delicious golden nectar! At the end of the tour we will be waiting for you with 4 specially selected single malts from different regions in Scotland. We will guide you through the whisky making process and the history of Scotland's liquid asset. The main flavours and styles of whisky will be sampled and you will be the judge. You may discover your new favourite. That particular whisky tasting is exclusive to the whisky walk. Interested? Get in touch with us or visit Gareth's website. If you fancy just a private tour and no whisky, or only a whisky tasting and no tour, get in touch. Slainte!
